Berg, Mayvis (24 AUG 1940)

Trinity Lutheran Church, candle-lighted and decorated with garden flowers and streamers in pastel colors was the setting for the wedding of Mayvis Berg and Romaine Rossow, Saturday evening, August 24, at 7 o’clock. The Rev. J. Langholz officiated.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a formal gown of white silk faille, made in princess style with a train. She wore a fingertip length veil and a bluish veil and carried a bouquet of white lilies.

Miss Marliss Berg, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. She was attired in aqua silk taffeta made with a tiered skirt and wore a shoulder length veiol and elbow-length gloves. She wore a shoulder bouquet of pink roses.

Miss Charlotte Ratzburg, the bridesmaid, was dressed in pink silk taffeta. She also wore a shoulder length veil and elbow-length gloves and a shoulder bouquet of pink roses. Robert Vandehey of Appleton, a cousin of the bridegroom and Harold Berg, the bride’s brother, were the groom’s attendants.

Mrs. George Jensen played organ music during the ceremony and George Jensen sang a solo, "I Love You Truly".

A wedding supper was served in the church parlors to over one hundred guests. Table Waitresses were Violet Nystad, Shirley Miller, Beverly Boe, Clareen Hammerstrom, and Yvonne Christensen. The room was decorated with garden flowers, candles, and streamers of aqua, pink, and white.

A wedding dance was given the same evening at Wiedenhoeft’s Pavilion, Colby, Wis.

A pre-nuptial shower was given the bride at the George Jensen home on Thursday evening.

Both the bride and groom are graduates of the Loyal High School. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Berg of Loyal. For six years she has been dental assistant to Dr. G. W. Nelson. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Rossow, also of Loyal. He is a mason by trade and is in company with his father.
